I subscribed as soon as you blogged about it earlier this year. I have only skimmed the most recent issue. Although the content looks amazing, I'm saving it for an upcoming business trip. On Page 88, the Museum Director of the McMinn County Living Heritage Museum in Athens raises the subject and talks about the importance of quilts in the history of slavery and goes on about quilts hung on a clothesline to tell escaped slaves which direction to flee, or whether they need to hide out. She is quoted "While its hard to know for sure, it's a theory that adds to the importance of the role that quilts play in the South's history". So sad this magazine and the Museum Director gives further credence to this myth.Florence McConnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18250253945791345994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1438079864390886446.post-56339999947396009192017-10-14T14:04:53.155-07:002017-10-14T14:04:53.155-07:00merikay is a name from the past, early days of the ...merikay is a name from the past, early days of the new england quilt museum and she also curated an exhibit in lexington eons ago...have a good time in NH...cityquilter gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16769584628450845408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1438079864390886446.post-22577036773020683212017-10-14T11:54:18.344-07:002017-10-14T11:54:18.344-07:00I loved reading your copies when I was at your hou...I loved reading your copies when I was at your house this summer.
