Medallion Challenge - Round 2

So on to round two of our little medallion challenge. We are having such a fun time chatting once a week about our progress, our families and life in general. It makes me feel connected in an otherwise disjointed world.

This week I added the half square triangles. I will be adding another plain (coping strip actually, so I don’t have to do any math!) border before moving on to the next round of 4-patches.

Weather is something I do not often complain about since it is going to happen whether I like it or not. But… the heat and humidity this summer has really knocked me out. It was the hottest and driest July on record in Maine and August is following along in its footsteps. There were days when it was hotter here than where my son lives in Florida – seriously?? So, I am dreaming of cooler days and nights and hoping all of you enjoy some comfortable temps in your “happy place”.

  1. This is so pretty. You must have the greatest stash!!! The heat is starting to get to me too but it's because I've been trying to bottle tomatoes. So, I dare not complain, we need the heat for the produce to ripen.

    1. I want to thank Dr Emu a very powerful spell caster who help me to bring my husband back to me, few month ago i have a serious problem with my husband, to the extend that he left the house, and he started dating another woman and he stayed with the woman, i tried all i can to bring him back, but all my effort was useless until the day my friend came to my house and i told her every thing that had happened between me and my husband, then she told me of a powerful spell caster who help her when she was in the same problem I then contact Dr Emu and told him every thing and he told me not to worry my self again that my husband will come back to me after he has cast a spell on him, i thought it was a joke, after he had finish casting the spell, he told me that he had just finish casting the spell, to my greatest surprise within 48 hours, my husband really came back begging me to forgive him, if you need his help you can contact him with via email: Emutemple@gmail.com or add him up on his whatsapp +2347012841542 is willing to help any body that need his help.

  3. Interesting that you're experiencing a dry heatwave at the coast. We're having the heatwave but with high humidity most days, and little rain in the past couple weeks. Watering the gardens now becomes an almost daily chore, but we may eventually harvest some tomatoes, yay! Your medallion quilt is going to be gorgeous, looking forward to seeing the next rounds!

  5. Coping strips can be a real brain saver. Your colors are bright and cheerful. Sorry about the extra hot summer weather. It can be draining. Maybe those cooler temps will show up soon.

  6. This is so pretty and so "you." Wait, I thought we could always count on Maine for wonderful summer weather! It's just as bad here... just ugh. Today it's 97 degrees, heat index 113!! I'm simply staying indoors.

  7. Those colorful hsts made me smile :) So sweet! We've only had a couple very humid 90 degree days here so no real complaints. But we just missed having a tornado come through. Whew!

I have visited Maine twice in past summers--glad they weren't the record heat kind of summer like you are having now--and sorry you are having to endure it.

The next hst round is perfect in the scrappy colors!

  14. Love the hst's--they add a lot of movement to your medallion. It's been unusually hot in MN too, but then there will be a cold day all of a sudden. One day we have to have hole up inside with the air on and the next we are wearing sweats. So crazy.
