It is with a heavy heart that
we say goodbye to a giant in the quilt world. Sue lost her valiant battle with lung cancer on Sunday.
Sue was a talented quiltmaker,
designer and teacher and never missed an opportunity to share her gifts. You
may not know her by her face or even her name, but you will surely recognize
the many quilts for which she was famous.
Sue faithfully posted to her
Blog on the first of every month. Her posts were always inspirational and she
so enjoyed giving credit to fellow quiltmakers as she traveled through the
quilting community.
She was and always will be one of my idols!
She was and always will be one of my idols!
There is now a giant hole in the quilt world. Please help to fill it by thinking of Sue today and take a moment to visit her Blog (Sue Garman) and pay tribute to this quilting treasure.
Such a big loss to the quilting community. I think it took me many days to get through her monthly blog post!
ReplyDeleteNever knew Sue, but certainly knew her quilts--and loved them. She was a quilting icon!!
ReplyDeleteI never had the opportunity to meet Sue or take a class, but I have several of her patterns and plan on doing her BOM through the Quilt Show this year. Her talent and design ability were truly a gift.

ReplyDeleteI never met her personally, but always looked forward to the first of the month and her blog posts. What an amazing women! An inspiration to me and one of my quilt idols as well. A huge loss to the quilting community and even more so to her family. Thinking of Sue and her family at this time!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful post on Sue. I just visited the announcement from her daughter. Such a loss for all of us. Her generosity was incredible.
ReplyDeleteOur quilting world will be a little smaller with this great loss... but Sue will live on in our quilts and because of her great love, generosity, and contribution in all her designs and patterns. Your tribute is lovely.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to a special quilter.
