Once again, I am in “under
the wire” for my monthly mini. I was really scrambling to find something easy and
quick for December since it is such a crazy month for all of us.
As usual a special friend
came to the rescue. I met up with my friend Laurie for lunch a few weeks ago on
my way to Cyndi’s. She gave me this fabulous Blazing Star block made from
feedsacks (she knows they are my favorite fabrics) that she found while
attending the AQSG seminar in Maryland.
Thanks a million Laurie!
Barbara's mini this month fits December perfectly! I love her fabulous Santa toile! Take a look (here).
Janet also piped in with a fantastic December finish. I wish I could beam myself to Utah and take a few lessons on mini piecing from Janet. (here)
Kyle's December mini is a Christmas delight! Absolutely stunning! (here)
And, Randy's December mini is now hanging in my house! Lucky me!!!

We are going to continue the monthly mini celebration of quilts in 2019 and would love to have you join in. You can do one month or twelve! I've had a ball and I thank all of you who have joined in this year (Barbara, Janet, Randy, Kyle, Pat and a few stragglers I may have missed) and hope to see some of you toss one into the ring in 2019!
Love your mini as always. I'd love to join in next year, though I'll probably not be able to complete one every month, and occasionally they may be something other than repro fabrics if that's ok.

ReplyDeleteYou did an incredible job of finishing off this block, Wendy! The borders just sing along with that center star. Excellent job--and not cheating!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome mini from a block long ago made and now finally finished. You came up with a perfect solution both for the quilt and the December time crunch. Mine is finished and as soon as I get a moment I'll write a post. I'm ready for next year!
ReplyDeleteLove your December mini - what a perfect way to frame up a delightful block! I look forward to more mini inspiration in 2019!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun mini--the border fabric is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWendy, you finished the year on a high note! Your mini is so sweet. Love the feedsack block with that border fabric. Uh, oh! It's almost January . . . :)
ReplyDeleteWendy, another pretty mini and you've just framed that star so nicely. Wouldn't the maker of that feed sack star be so pleased. I'm *hoping* and *planning* to join you all in making some minis in 2019!
ReplyDeleteLove how you finished the star from Laurie! I made a mini this month too. I'd like to officially join in with the monthly mini - what do I do? send you a link when I finish one? I might make all mine modern just for fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Friend.
Count me in! I keep thinking I should do this, so maybe joining others will help me actually accomplish it.
