My local, “Kaleidoscope”
quilt group hosted a mystery quilt challenge. I have done 2 mystery quilts in
the past with Kevin (Kevin the Quilter). Well, to be honest I did one mystery
with Kevin (here) and the second one is still in this stage.
So, because I am so dedicated
(wink), I decided to give it a whirl.
This photo is closer to the true colors
As usual when I try to follow directions I stray and I ended up with an extra block. I simply quartered it and used them as corner blocks and I like the effect. The border fabric is from an older line by my friend, Judy Roche called "Peddler's Pack". It is one of my all time favorites. I just love pink and brown together.
In these strange and troublesome times, many of us have all taken on new tasks to help those in need and thus may not have had the time to put together a monthly mini. So, I have linked up everyone who has participate in the past (and a few who have simply made some spectacular minis before and I think you will want to visit them) so you can see what they have been up to. Enjoy! Stay safe and healthy.

so many adorable little quilts! and thank you for including me...feel like i have now "arrived"....inspiring me to make more...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pattern. The blocks are simple but the results are spectacular! This idea would make a great group challenge. You have the best stash.
ReplyDeleteGreat little mini, although the fabrics seem so out of character for you!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the corners!!
Stay well.
That looks like such a fun quilt to make! Great for using up odds and ends of fabric strips. Love the bright pink peony colors too.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Wendy! What great colors... it reminds me of those licorice candies... Alsorts? And what a brilliant trick to get four "Bento Box" blocks out of the one block. I'll definitely have to try that. I've linked back now, and look forward to checking out all the other March Minis.
ReplyDeleteLove the pile of mystery blocks!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour mini is super sweet.
So the blocks aren't hot pink the way they appear? Whatever shade of pink was used, I like them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful March mini! Great colors! I've only done a guild challenge once many years ago. Thanks for linking me up. Now I'm on my way to see what others have made :)
ReplyDeleteKaleidoscope is delightful! I really like the way the blocks are constructed, sliced up and reassembled. It has a wonderful way of appearing to jiggle and jive.
ReplyDeleteYour pile from Kevin's second mystery had me laughing. Maybe that is because it hit so close to home. As I have spent more time at home I have been in the sewing room more, and sometimes I tell myself I am going to clean it. Truly I just end up making a bigger mess, but the "effort" has often uncovered piles such as yours. :)
Look at that wonderful list of participants! Such fun!
That looks like a fun little project to make! It was clever of you to use that extra block that way too--cute little mini!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work. As always!
ReplyDeleteGreat little finish! Love pink and brown quilts so much. The only problem is, making just one is terribly hard to do. They tend to want to multiply!:)
ReplyDeleteLove your fabrics, wish some place near carried those!
ReplyDeletePink and chocolate are one of my favorite color combinations - perfect for Spring! Great-looking mini quilt!
ReplyDeleteDelicious mini, so lively. Small projects are perfect for this stressful time...
