I have been so busy this summer
that I thought it would be a good idea to start another project!
I am joining Katy (KatyQuilts) and her friend in a very simple and slow paced sew-a-long!
Katy has made one (or more) of
this simple yet effective pattern in red, white and blue. I am opting to make
mine really scrappy. In fact, each of the dark prints will be a different
fabric. I had several hundred 5” squares already, so I simply cut them to size.
In order to make things easier, the lights are all the same fabric.
We had 2 weeks to cut all the
pieces and naturally I just finished last night. Sorry about the bad photos. Time
to start stitching today. We have 2 more weeks until the next step.
If all goes well, I should
have a lovely quilt for the infusion center of our local hospital by October!
too funny wendy...would have joined in if i weren't on vacay...
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. I’m betting yours will be stunning !
ReplyDeleteUsing a few of those 5 inch squares is going to be fun new project. 😃😃😃
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a fun project and a great way to use your scrappy squares.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing how this will look being 'scrappy' vs the controlled R/W/B versions. I'm thinking it will be wonderful!
ReplyDeletelots of cutting there.......goodluck......
ReplyDeleteHi, I saw your quilt on a blog - the one with the WCR 2012 in the center. Is this a Mosaic Tiles quilt? I would love to follow your on bloglovin but I could not find a "follow" button on this page.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I am so bad at technology! I will try to see if I can add that button. Thanks for following along!
DeleteOh, what a fun quilt to make! Good idea to keep all the lights the same fabric. Can't wait to see the next step!
ReplyDeleteFun! Looking forward to watching your progress.
