These Olympic games are killing
me! I enjoy every part of the winter Olympics except for the lack of sleep! I’m just
not used to staying up so late.
My quilting has taken a back
seat this past week, so I will show you a little quilt I made for my niece. I took the photo
while at her house a while ago. I love it when the younger generation appreciates
the finer things in life – like quilts of course!
I cannot remember where I got
the center panel, but I surely would love to find another one. I love this
quilt (and my niece!).
Hope you are enjoying these
wonderful young people fulfill their dreams. I think every one of them deserves
great admiration, whether they make it to the podium or not. Their grit and determination
is amazing!
What a wonderful quilt! Love all the florals.:)
ReplyDeleteThe center panel is wonderful. I don't remember seeing anything like that.
ReplyDeleteI have lost sleep to watch the Olympics too, so I feel your pain. Now I won't let myself watch or only watch with the alarm set. That's a pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love that center panel too. I bet it was really fun to design around. Love the fussy cut corners.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt! The panel and the quilt remind me of quilts I’ve seen from Holland, Dutch reproductions. Just beautiful. Lucky niece.
ReplyDeleteYes... .. Loving the olympics.....
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous panel! The quilt is marvellous too - a lovely gift!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love those dark fabrics, perfect for this quilt and perfect placement. They really set off the other fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful quilt. I like how you placed all those large chintz style fabrics together. You have an awesome stash.
ReplyDeletebeautiful quilt! lucky her
ReplyDeleteI'm failing badly at the Olympics. I was away for a week and now I just can't stay up :(
The center panel is terrific ! Chintz is always a wonderful fabric to add in a quilt !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for this finish Wendy and how lucky your niece is !
That is such a beautiful little quilt. Don't tell my nieces you do this, or I will be in the doghouse. :)
ReplyDeleteI also love every event, and watch every minute that I can! So exciting to watch the women medal in cross country skiing and hockey last night, even though I usually am not into those sports.
It's so good to see something we've made being used and enjoyed by others isn't it? I'm glad you said the centre was a panel, I was thinking what a great applique job you'd done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little quilt. You've given me an idea for my mini monthly quilts!!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!!
Love watching the skating best of all; second is the cross-country skiing...
What a beautiful quilt especially the center panel surrounded by all those large prints. Your niece is a very lucky person! I can't stay up to watch some of the Olympic events but catch up the following day. Skiing, skating, and hockey are favorites.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Raccoon eyes, complete with dark circles, here, too. Just love watching them all pour their hearts into it! And nice seeing the snowy scenery, too.
ReplyDeleteLove your little quilt! Do you know the center panel name?
I really likes your blog! You have shared the whole concept really well and very beautifully soulful read!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
