Lori at Humble Quilts hosted
another enjoyable mini quilt swap. This is the fabulous quilt I received from
Christy in Oregon. Look at all those geese! I think this is particularly
appropriate for the spring (or rather lack thereof) we have had this year. The
geese just keep going round and round since they don’t know whether to head
south or go back home! I love this kind of border.
And look at this sweet label. Hand embroidered!
Here is the little quilt I
sent to Shannon in Wisconsin. I loved these little square in a square blocks
with those bright reproduction centers, but it didn’t occur to me that they
would become really “square” when the little block was set on point. I still
like it, but it was not the look I had intended. Life’s lessons!
Both quilts are lovely. Hugs

Two wonderful little quilts! Nothing wrong with squares, Wendy--even if not the intended outcome. It is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery nice fabric choices.❤️
ReplyDeleteBoth such wonderful doll quilts! I love the fabric you used for your setting squares - subtle and very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think your little quilt is charming, regardless of how the squares are oriented.
ReplyDeleteChristy is my real life friend who I went to Peru and Colombia with! Her little quilt is super darling!!
I think that both of those little quilts are beautiful!

The quilt you received is wonderful with all those flying geese. Yours turned out great! The background fabrics make those squares pop :)
ReplyDeleteBoth of those sweet little quilts represent how charming dolly quilts are! I think our geese are very confused here also...from a blizzard of 2 weeks ago to 72 degrees yesterday...
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little quilts! Had to laugh at your unintentional design result. If that can happen to you with all your years experience, then I don't feel so bad. Somehow I always get this shocked 'why did this happen' and feel like I need to slap my forehead . lol So much pre-thinking and then the color/fabric draws us in and messes us up! Audrey
ReplyDeleteAll those geese??!! Lovely!! And I also love the one you made. I don't see any problems whatsoever!!! ;-))
ReplyDeletexxxs,
Both of the quilts are really cute. I love the geese too. It's so fun to experiment with fabric And color on a small scale project. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI too like flying geese borders. I have a large star quilt that has a flying geese border.
ReplyDeleteI like both of these, and even if the squares weren't quite what you planned they worked out well.
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy, These quilts are both darling. We love the colors and patterns and a swap is such a great idea. It is so much fun to see all the imagination from our quilting sisters ! Thanks for the lovely photos, from Marina and Daryl Lynn
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are so sweet. I know what you are saying about the block orientation but it’s still sweet as can be and more complex the closer you look at it.
