My friend Meliss Swanson brought hers to our last meeting and we had fun showing them off. These two photos are a better representation of the color of my background. Meliss is machine appliqueing hers and they are spectacular! I love how she pieced 4 blocks together for her background.

It's not to late to join in the fun!
beautiful block wendy...as always your skills are superb!
ReplyDeleteI love this block, someday hope to make an entire quilt of these. Amazing how the camera sees some colors so differently than our eyes. It's a constant struggle to photograph some of mine accurately too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words Wendy, this applique is a bunch of fun even though it is a steep learning curve from piecing. It's a blast to walk this journey together with you and the other talented artists in the group Hospital Sketches so generously offered by Barbara Brackman. Happy sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love the purple and the blue! Your block is beautiful. I don't know if I've ever appliqued such big flowers before. What will block four be like??
ReplyDeleteI love this block. Great fabric choices. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI adore the little bit of blue with the purple you put into your block of Love Apple. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteFun to see how different, yet alike, your blocks and Meliss' blocks appear.
Gorgeous block Wendy! I love the green background, is it a solid??
ReplyDeleteI love the way people are making the blocks "their own" with colors and design changes. Thanks to you and Meliss for sharing your blocks. Great work!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty block - Your's is hand appliqued, right?
ReplyDeleteFabulous fabrics and colors. Your background is so springy. Are you not doing them potholder style?
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful block and great fabrics! Lookin' good, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteSo smart to put that little "dot" on your love apple--I'm so worried about my raw edges popping out of where the leaves meet. I agree that these are huge blocks! They are a kind of hard to work with, but your block looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAll these Love Apple blocks have been making me considering making another quilt with these sorts of blocks. Love them so much.:)
ReplyDeleteGood work, Wendy. I just got started on the Periwinkle block before company arrived. So I have had to set it aside. I hope to catch up soon.
