And another "reason for quilts"

or should I say another  "use for quilts".

With yet another layer of snow covering the ground this morning, it brought to mind the "quilt walk" of 1864 in Panguitch, Utah. Google it for the full story of this historic trip for food and supplies in the winter of 1864. I do feel if we get any more snow I will be laying my quilts on the ground in order to walk next door!

Come on crocuses! I know they are under that white stuff somewhere!

  1. Hi, Wendy! Funny you have this posted today, as I was just thinking of the same quilt walk! We had another 7 or 8 inches of snow yesterday, the 1st of March. It's not as bitterly cold, though, so a nice snow day; but we don't have the total accumulation that you folks up northeast have. Hope you have a sun-shiny day and your quilts stay indoors. :)

    1. Excellent idea Dawn! Your quilt looks great on the AQSG site. Wish they were doing a book but I will go to the New England Quilt Museum this summer when it arrives. I will post photos on my Blog if they come out!

  4. I attended the first Quilt Walk weekend in Panguitch years ago - such a great story! Sadly for us, there is hardly any snow in sight this year - sigh!
