Once again trying to adhere to Barbara's suggestion to think like a nineteenth century quilter. It certainly becomes easier as I go along. This next one is my favorite. Like the Pennsylvania German's I too like using bright colors. Love the pink and green together. I have lived in Maine all my life, but I think I must have been born in Pennsylvania!
Enjoy the day!
Lovely versions of the stars, Wendy. It's kind of liberating to mix the fabrics and piece as necessary, isn't it? Barbara's encouragement to think like quilters of the past makes this such a fun project. I'm enjoying seeing everyone's stars and hope to start mine one of these days.
ReplyDeleteStarting is definitely half the battle! Once you start you just can't stop. Thanks for stopping by and have fun starting.
Deletepretty stars....can't wait to be stitchin again....
ReplyDeleteHappy Move! Hope you get your machine up soon.
DeleteGood job on getting to those bright greens! Your stars look very authentic, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the greens almost as much as the pinks and yellows. Color, color, color!
DeleteI love the look of your stars !! Very cute ! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am so lucky to have a good source for reproductions. Loved making the pink and green one!
DeleteI LOVE your green stars. Especially the pink and green. also love that you are mixing them up. I've decided to make little ones straight forward, but now I think I'll mix em up too!!
ReplyDeleteI am a mix it up kind of person so it really is natural for me!
DeleteThanks! It is easier to do now that I have done a few of them. I'm sure if I ever entered these in a competition, the judges would NOT understand!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and green one too! I like the sparkle that pink can give an otherwise dull quilt. But I do have a hard time using yellow.
