My Little Quilty 365 tin is nearly empty

There are 360  4” blocks in the quilt. So, I have just one more block and then 5 additional little circles appliqued on top of larger circles to complete the top.

I started on November 8, 2015 and I have appliqued one circle a day since then. They have become my daily vitamin. I have decided that when I have completed all 365 circles on Sunday, November 6, that I will piece the top together and baste it. It sounds like a big goal for one day, but my DH will be at a boat show in the Caribbean so I will have the entire living room floor to spread it out on. I’m not much of a baster, but I will secure the edges and away we go! I will quilt around one block each day until finished next November! I’ll post my progress until Audrey (Quilty Folk) decides she has had enough of the ”link up”!

I can't thank Audrey enough for the inspiration to keep moving along on this project. Check out Audrey's post (here) for all the wonderful little circles! What fun it has been!

  1. Ooh, I like your plan! I may do this also to keep at it as this quilt is calling for me to hand-quilt it. To even quilt 2 blocks a day should be quite do-able. Thanks for the idea!

  5. I'm looking forward to seeing your completed top. Sounds like quite a few of us are planning on hand quilting our circles. Wouldn't seem right to machine quilt after doing all that needle turn applique.

  7. Sounds like a great plan Wendy! I'm keen to see all your circles together and how you will hand quilt them - might just get me motivated to get on and quilt mine too :)

  9. I have so enjoyed watching your circles grow. I can't imagine having that many different 'real' 30s fabrics 😊! So, out of 365 times 2 fabrics for your blocks, how many different ones? When are you going to share what you're doing with the circles from behind? Wendy, I'm so impressed.

  11. What a fantastic finish. You were so dedicated and your daily vitamin was a great way to think about it. I like the fact that your taking the same approach for the quilting. Slower, but steady.

  16. I would like to know what brand of cotton batting you use for your quilts and where you purchase it? I can find Mountain Mist Blue Ribbon but only in crib size.

  19. Congratulations on meeting your year-long goal! I so admire you for sticking to this and not falling behind or giving up. I thought that was such a cool project to launch and how fun to be working on something that others are working on at he same time...a tribe of eager quilters doing hand-applique and urging each other on...HOW FABULOUS!
