Special Visit and Blockheads Update

While visiting Cyndi at the Busy Thimble (aka Paradise) over the weekend, she snapped this picture of me with my first two rows of Blockhead blocks. I am doing it in the potholder method (naturally!) and finally decided to just stitch them together in the order of publication.

I bought half yard cuts of the entire line of Betsy Chutchian’s “Rachel Remembered”. I love every single one of the 40 fabrics in this line. I think it is my favorite Betsy Chutchian so far. I nabbed this image from Cyndi’s Blog, but do check out this post (here) to see the close ups. This line is delicious!

And then, Cyndi handed me a beautiful package, cleverly wrapped in a tissue dress pattern.  Imagine my delight when I found this beautiful pin cushion inside. Pam Buda had graciously sent one to Cyndi and one to me.
How lucky are we?! Pam is another one of my favorite designers. We met at our state show in Augusta last year and she is just as sweet as her quilts and her fabrics. Check out Pam’s blog, Heartspun Quilts (here) for some luscious eye candy.

Have a great day!

  1. The fabric line you purchased looks oh so tempting. How good it is that you have a shop that will carry a whole line of the repro fabrics.

  8. So happy to see you in my favorite quilt shop!!
Your quilt-in-the-making looks wonderful! I am never brave enough to sew things together until all the blocks are done. It robs me of the joy of endlessly shifting things around to get them "just right". LOL
I agree that Rachel Remembered is a gorgeous line of fabric.
That Pam is such a sweetheart. isn't she?

  9. I loved your post today. It was wonderful seeing you with your terrific blocks and all of thst delicious fabric behind you. You are lucky to have a shop so near by that carries all of the beautiful repro lines. I can see it would be very tempting to live so close. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself to some fabric goodness.

  10. I fell in love with Betsy Chutchian's previous line Hope's Journey and bought a FQ bundle. I was going to use it to do the Blockheads BOM (your partial quilt is delightful BTW). I ended up doing my current applique project instead. I still love the line. It is so pretty. I'm determined to try the hot pad method one of these days. I think I would find it so satisfying. I love the toile-like fabrics in Rachel Remembered - so lovely.

  11. Imagine my surprise as I was scrolling down my blog feed and I recognized you immediately so I had to stop and read your wonderful post. Great job on the Blockhead blocks and I am so thankful you bought 20 yards of fabric. I've been bad, thanks to Memorial Day sales, so I'm heading the wrong way with my challenge. I don't dare look at the Rachel Remember fabric line.
