Green stars

Quick post of my green stars. Busy weekend ahead but I managed to piece my two green stars.

Once again trying to adhere to Barbara's suggestion to think like a nineteenth century quilter. It certainly becomes easier as I go along. This next one is my favorite. Like the Pennsylvania German's I too like using bright colors. Love the pink and green together. I have lived in Maine all my life, but I think I must have been born in Pennsylvania!

Enjoy the day!

  1. Lovely versions of the stars, Wendy. It's kind of liberating to mix the fabrics and piece as necessary, isn't it? Barbara's encouragement to think like quilters of the past makes this such a fun project. I'm enjoying seeing everyone's stars and hope to start mine one of these days.

  3. Love your two stars all stitched up. I really like how when you first look they all look like matching fabrics. Then to look closer I can see how you used the scrappy look. Fantastic.

    1. Thanks! It is easier to do now that I have done a few of them. I'm sure if I ever entered these in a competition, the judges would NOT understand!

  7. I love the pink and green one too! I like the sparkle that pink can give an otherwise dull quilt. But I do have a hard time using yellow.
