Now I understand!

When I started this blog last Fall, I had already been reading my favorites for a few years.  It amazed me that people who were so prolific and dedicated to their art and their blogs, posted so little in the summer months. “How hard is it to post what you have been working on that day or week?” I asked myself. Well, now I know! I apologize to all my blogging friends for even thinking such a silly thing. My only excuse is that I work in a marina/boatyard and our business doubles in the summer. I still manage to work a bit each morning on my hand quilting or applique before I hit the road at 6:30 a.m., but I just don’t seem to have the time to photograph and post!

I look at the summer postings of what some of you have accomplished and it amazes me!  Take a moment to check out Debra at “My Life is a Stitch” and see what happy things she has created this summer, all while helping to care for her grandchildren! Audrey at “Quilty Folk” has finished some wonderful quilts this summer. Her “Happy Flowers” quilt is sensational and very aptly named. Hilda of “EveryStitch” has started another sensational hand applique project. Her applique is exquisite. Nancy at “Tom Miner Quilts and Folk Art” is making a delightfully scrappy string quilt which is now on my “to do” list. My friend Cyndi at “BusyThimble” never ceases to amaze me at what she accomplishes while running a shop and assisting with the family farm. And perhaps the most frequent “poster” is Lori at “Humble Quilts” who is constantly sharing her inspiring quilts and charity projects all while taking care of her mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. I hope that by next week I can share a few of the little dresses I will be sending her to ship to little girls in Bolivia. I have only mentioned a few of my favorite bloggers. Check out all my favorites along my sidebar and enjoy the posts of others until I can get my act (and camera) in gear and post what I’ve been working on. Fall is just around the corner and I look forward to sharing lots of new things! Thanks to all of you for sharing!

  1. Lol Summertime really is the hardest time to keep up with everything. All our weekends are scheduled and busy, busy so I can't ever get anything posted to Slow Stitching Sunday. Oh well. Priorities! Things will slow down a bit come fall and winter. That's prime time for us Quilters.:)

  2. I agree Summertime is extra harder. I have struggled with blogging this summer also. So I am trying to get at least one post a month done! Sad isn't it! But I am making some progress on my ufo's!

  9. We all have productive times and slack times. Doesn't mean we never stop thinking about the next quilt and the next quilt. Thanks for sharing some of your favorite blogs. Some were new to me and I have added them to my reading list. I hope you get to stitch a bit today!

  10. It seems I'm on the right track, I hope I can do well. The result was something I did and was doing to implement it.
