My friend Karen is making a
medallion quilt. What do you think about the center?
Karen rescues Shih Tzu’s and
currently has five. They are all adorable and very helpful in the quilt room.
Karen and I took a class from
Karen Dever (KarenDever.com) at the Maine State quilt show last summer.
The surrounding blocks are Karen Dever’s, “Ault Star”. It is a block from an antique quilt she owns. Of course my blocks are still sitting in the
box, but maybe I will put them into an orphan scrap quilt this winter. Here is
what Karen’s quilt top looks like without fur. Isn't it beautiful!
very nice...and you were up early!
ReplyDeleteI'm a morning person Grace!
DeleteKaren's top is lovely - and so is the pup!
ReplyDeleteThey are too cute to resist (that is why she currently has five!)
DeleteThe doggie and all of the blocks are lovely. I would make sure that red in the center was repeated in an outer border.
ReplyDeleteI agree on all counts.
DeleteAll in this quilt is gorgeous !
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteVery nice! I agree about sharing some fabric from the center to the outside border of the stars.
ReplyDeleteCute doggy! I cant imagine having 5 dogs!!
And they all get along!
DeleteI think I like the center in the top photo best! *LOL*
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool star block.
I agree!
DeleteVery nice star blocks. I also agree that red needs to be repeated.
ReplyDeleteOh, so very pretty. A perfect setting for the blocks.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Thanks for the plug on your blog! I love to see what people do with my patterns. Please share when complete!
ReplyDeleteI'll post again when she finishes it. We had fun for sure!
DeleteGreat block, bet it was a fun class. Looking forward to seeing the next steps.

ReplyDeleteLove Karen's quilt (with and without dog!)..........ask her to bring it for show&tell next time she visits the shop!!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful but so is the little pup in the middle!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and I hope you have a good weekend.
Carolyn
Wendy, Well I found your blog and enjoyed it. Thank you. I've been enjoying Cyndi's, for a while. I quilt everyday, and still teach. I left Maine in 1999 and miss coming back for the Summer show, but we do what we have to.
ReplyDeletelol The 3-D version will definitely be harder to quilt.:)
