Thought I would share my
“spatial relationships” with my “special relationships” (all my new friends in
Blogland that is).
This is my “work station” where
I sit each morning before heading off to work or weekend frivolities. Since
November 8, I have begun the day (thanks to Audrey at Quilty Folk) by
appliquing a little feedsack circle onto a 4 ½” square.
Then I move on to whatever is
on the schedule for that day. Today it is the next block (Stars in the East) in
the Shenandoah Valley Botanical Album sew-a-long.
And under my Quilty 365 tin
is the tin (formerly filled with Whitman’s sampler chocolates!) with my 50
weight DMC applique thread. (oh my, I guess the cleaning fairy missed a few scrids
on the floor while dusting yesterday!)
Hope you enjoy your morning
(and evening) stitching.
Great way to begin the day--I may have to try this myself. love the way you have repurposed the sampler tin
ReplyDeleteLove your DMC storage idea!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, look at all that gorgeous DMC! It's the perfect thread for applique!
ReplyDeleteYour space looks very cozy! Nice to have everything handy. I have not tried the DMC thread. I have been using YLI silk and I like it except I seem to accidentally unthread my needle with it a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cozy space for starting your day. Your sampler tin has a marvelous colorful collection of DMC thread. It's nice to have everything so handy so you can get some stitching done in just a little bit of time. Love the colors in your next applique block.
ReplyDeleteYour SAL block is very striking!
ReplyDeleteA great use of the chocolates tin. Makes a pretty display.
Ooh I would be happy to get that tin of threads from my husband instead of chocolates! Good idea to stitch before leaving the house. Rather like a leaders and enders quilt!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog, and I think we could be Kindred spirits, as Anne, with an "E" would say.

ReplyDeleteLove your choice of colors for your Shenandoah Quilt. Beautiful! Margie/NY
ReplyDeleteIt's is so nice to have a space and be ready to get a little done in the morning - I love your thread tin.
ReplyDeleteI love mornings - happy friday
I enjoyed seeing your spatial relations- looks very comfortable and I spot a potholder there too! I have a side table by the lounge that looks a lot like that...trouble is it all keeps spreading across other surfaces too. Your new block is so pretty - wow I just LOVE the fabrics - makes mine look so drab!
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to start the day! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteA very pleasant work station with a working coffee cup, LOL! It makes me happy to look at your rainbow of applique thread spools, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best way to start a day!! :-)
ReplyDeleteA very cozy way to start your day off right! Your fabric choices are wonderful and so are the threads.
