Like riding a bike!

I’ve been doing a lot of hand work lately. In fact, I’ve been away from my machine so much in the past few months, I thought I just might have forgotten how to use it. But, I guess it is like riding a bike (although I was much better on horseback) as I sat right down and pieced this little medallion top. Thanks to my friend Cyndi (Busy Thimble), there are 288 different fabrics in this little top. They finish 1". The center is from a reproduction panel that Kay Triplett printed from one of the quilts in the Poos collection. This is the 6" size but it wasn't exactly 6" so I had to applique it onto a background for it to fit. I believe they are still available on Etsy.

I’ve finished the final step in Randy’s bullseye blocks as well. Now to just put them together!

Hope you get a little stitching in your day too!

  10. What an awesome collection of fabrics in your wonderful medallion quilt. It was a perfect way to use the panel. Glad you had a chance to get back to your machine. Both of you seemed to still work well together.

  14. Cute! Is that a Jo Morton pattern? I made something similar but didn't use a medallion! Great idea! Cheers!

    1. It's not a pattern, just lots of 1" finished squares and a 6" center. I tend to ramble on when piecing little squares!

  15. Love your Medallion! How many have we made since Jo introduced us to it with her little club quilt that had the embroidered faces of "little women" in the center? So simple but So Beautiful! That reminds me.....I need to get back to cutting more squares for you to reciprocate for the 3300+ you cut for me!!!.....and here I sit perusing blogs, Pinterest and Facebook! Now I will be good and go work on applique!

    1. Actually, I made my first one about 25 years ago with a horse (of course) in the center. Gave it away. I have always loved yours with the woman in the center, but I didn't know it was Jo's! I need to pay more attention! And I think I have quite enough squares to keep me busy for a while thanks to you! I'm starting my mini repro for the show this weekend - I promise!!
