September Monthly Mini

I love everything about this little quilt!

It doesn't look much like September, but it suits the way I am feeling right now. Full of hope for a full recovery!  It is made from Roberta Horton homespuns. I bought the entire line back in the early 1990’s. They are a joy to work with. So soft and sweet. I hand quilted the center and it was like quilting through butter.

The little machine embroidered rickrack made a nice addition to the basket. I can’t for the life of me remember where I got that but I have used it a few times before.

Once again, I want to thank all of you for sticking with this “mini series”. I am feeling better every day and really looking forward to getting back in full swing in the sewing room! For that reason, I am calling this one “In the Pink”.

Let’s see what you have all come up with as we say goodbye to summer.

  3. Such a cheerful hopeful post. Your little mini is adorable. Thanks for sharing. I have a bunch of homespuns I'd like to use in a quilt and I was wondering, do you pre-shrink? And if so, what process do you use?

    1. I do pre-wash the homespuns. In fact, I prewash everything these days. Just plain soap and water in the washer and then in the dryer to preshrink.
