I love watching the progress
of the slow stitching Sunday bloggers and I keep meaning to link up, but I’m
afraid I’ve placed a whole new meaning on “slow stitching” with this thing. I
started this “Burning Leaves” potholder quilt back in June at my retreat (here).
Granted I have made 2 wedding quilts and 3 tops for our group’s Veterans quilts
project and a few various and sundry projects this summer, but… I guess I just
feel like this simple quilt is taking way longer than I anticipated.
I’m not really complaining as
I have really enjoyed working on this every morning before work. I just feel
like maybe I should start something entirely new (I mean something that isn’t on
my list of the 27 quilts already in my head). I just know that I am the only
one who feels this way LOL!
Maybe it is just because we
have such spectacular Fall color here in Maine this year (best I ever remember)
that I need to move on to a different color scheme for a while.
Dare I start something
white??? Happy quilting!
Your fall leaves are as colorful as the fall many of us have enjoyed. The words Slow stitching is just relative to how each of us works. Enjoy! Something white?
ReplyDeleteSuch a warm and welcoming color group in your potholder quilt. The leaves are so pretty--I haven't seen them like that before.
ReplyDeleteI find myselft saying time and again...it's not a race! Just enjoy the process. Your process is perfect! Love those little leaves.
ReplyDeleteDon't change anything Wendy ! Your Fall leaves are perfect and if you want to make something with white ... Why not ??
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are having a pretty fall. Not so pretty here, no rain for months and even 60 foot tall oaks look sad. I sure hope they make it. We have lost so many in the area to the droughts. I love seeing your leaves. Looks like a fun little project.
ReplyDeleteIsn't is funny how sometimes we just feel this urge to jump into something completely new and different? I say go for it. It will probably end up being a favorite! Love your slow project. It's taking just as much time as it needs.:)
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable!
ReplyDeletelove these! always start something new~
