I have finished the second
block (actually I made 4 of the first “Pineapple” block) in the SVBAQ sew along
and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I did do a little pattern re-work. I didn’t
like the little stem on the buds. It’s not perfect now but I like it better. I
am in hopes that this will mean I can keep up with this project in a timely
fashion.
I mentioned last week that I
have taken on yet another sew-a-long with Audrey from Quilty Folk. I have found
the perfect little case to keep my little circle blocks in. My plan is to prep
7 blocks on Sunday and pick one at random every morning to applique down. A
circle a day keeps the boredom away – seriously?? Are we ever bored?
The blessing of being a quilter (among other things) is to totally not understand how people get bored!!
ReplyDeleteYour block is outstanding! Purples and cheddar--be still my heart! : )
Ahh, such a cute little case for your circles.
you are so right! I have exchanged boredom for frustration in not having enough time to get bored!
DeleteYour block is simply fabulous, I just stopped and stared at it for a couple minutes before reading on, cheddar and purple!! I really must learn to applique small pieces better. So happy you decided to join in on Audrey's Quilty 365 project. Quilting is the antithesis of boredom!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long time to dare to tackle small applique pieces. I have found they are no more difficult than large ones, in fact they take less time. I adore applique. It is my one true addiction.
DeleteYou' re very talented Wendy ! Your appliqué blocks are awesome .... And this cheddar is perfect !!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Flag block Wendy - am loving that cheddar background - yum!
ReplyDeleteI like your plan with the circle blocks and as soon as I get a moment I' m taking this sewalong on too! Prepping a week's worth at a time is a great idea - will make keeping up easier to manage. Love your little block keeper :)
cute!
ReplyDeleteI like the combo of the purples and blues. Are you going to have the same background fabric throughout the quilt or a variety?
ReplyDeleteThe iris show up brilliantly on your awesome cheddar background and your cute circular tin is perfect for your appliquéd circles.
ReplyDeleteyay for making your own small changes - make it your own!
ReplyDeletelove that cheddar and nice new header quilt!!
what a sweet little case
Your applique block is wonderful!! Have fun with your circles. What a cute case to keep them in.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful block, awesome fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLove the background fabric.
ReplyDeleteYour applique is beautiful. What a cute container for your circle quilt - I am doing it too. I haven't entered a quilt in a show, but mostly because I don't like paying the money for entering, shipping, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful block - that cheddar background is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI came to see your iris block since I just finished mine. It was dooser for me, but it turned out alright I think. Love the little differences each quilter adds or changes. Love how yours look on the cheddar background.
