Time to link up with Audrey’s
Quilty 365. I don't have a design wall so I could only get a few rows in at a time.
I began my journey on
November 8 and with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, I have appliqued a
circle a day since then. I have found this to be my total relaxation project. I
am making mine out of vintage feedsack fabrics and so far I have not duplicated
one fabric (I think). I usually prep a week’s worth on Sunday but if I fall
behind, I just prep a few more. There will be 20 rows of 18 blocks each, plus a 4 12" border with corner blocks and I will add another circle in there somewhere to make it add up to 365. I realized yesterday, that I have a dilemma. Because of leap year, do I stop on November 7 with my 365 blocks as planned or make one more and call it Quilty 366? I think I will cross that bridge in November!
Because of the nature of feedsacks, the light
fabrics tend to show through to the background if you don’t cut out the back.
However…. Yup, once in a while you get a little overzealous and joila! a tiny
slice appears. Easily fixable!
Please check out Audrey’s link up. There are some fantastic stitchers and stories to go along with them.
I love to see all the different approaches to this sew-a-long. Thanks again
Audrey!
What fun your circles are. I have a tiny (less than 10) collection of feedsack prints and each month I play I Spy to see if any of those prints show up in your circles. So far I haven't spotted any but I'm sure by the end of the year they will show themselves!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun collection of prints in your blocks.
ReplyDeleteI think I would be tempted to call it Quilty 365+1, or something like that, to commemorate the unique year in which it was (mostly) made. : )
You are making wonderful progress on your 365 quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric selection is fabulous. Love the variety of feedsacks you have, very impressive.
I love all those prints just melting together. Super fun.
ReplyDeleteI have found it very interesting following the various circle quilts being made because of Audrey's start on the project. Every circle tells a story. Yours is telling the story of your vintage fabric collection.
ReplyDeleteWonderful collection of fabrics ! Your quilt will be fresh & happy.I love.
ReplyDeleteA great way to showcase these wonderful feed sacks!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! It's been so very interesting to see the different outcomes! Who knew a simple circle could look so different.:)
ReplyDeletelove your version. I started mine Jan 1st of this year so I am a "newbie" to this project but am finding it to be very fun
ReplyDeleteWendy, your circles are so pretty! I am wondering how you will repair your little tear? This happens to me sometimes and I would be pleased if you would show how to fix it?
ReplyDeleteLoving your feed sack circles! What fun!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing them all laid out - so fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, Wendy! I am crazy about this! Such pure joy!!
ReplyDeleteJelly.......not much! I adore those fabrics and the combinations are fabulous. We didn't get feed sacks here in Australia so these fabrics are gold to us, they are mouthwatering. I love the use of a patterned background too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous blocks!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your blocks and congratulations for keeping up with the pace!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to see all your different prints every month!
ReplyDeleteWendy

I just love the circles done in feed sacks--so fun and cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic showcase for your feedsacks! So bright and cheerful :-)
ReplyDeleteSome gorgeous fabrics there.
ReplyDeleteYour Quilty 366 project is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! I love the busy prints you are using.
ReplyDeleteLove your collection of circles. Mine doesn't fit in one picture anymore either and I am doing a similar configuration (21 circles x 17 or however many depending on when I stop). How do you fix it when you nick the circle?
