John Lennon was right!

Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans! I was to leave for the Vermont Quilt Festival tonight to be there for tomorrow, but… life got in the way. So, my friend Sarah Ann Smith took this photo and put it on her Facebook page. Second place for my potholder quilt, “Burning Leaves”. Woohoo! I was working on the applique of this quilt while riding the bus to VT last year.

And another friend, Sharon Waddell, posted this photo of Gladi Porsche’s fabulous “Stella Nova” quilt that she made with some of her Stars in a Time Warp blocks. It won a second place ribbon as well as a Judge’s Choice, although I do not yet know which judge it was. Congratulations Gladi!!

Do you whipstitch your potholder blocks together? Have you blogged the process anywhere? I'm interested to see how it's done!
