Happy New Year one and all.
December 31 is special for me. My son was born on the 31st and last
year we welcomed a new grandson on this same day!
It made the perfect center for this little Christmas season mini. I felt it deserved the best so I mitered the corners of this super wavy stripe. Not perfect, but pretty good considering it had been a while. It isn’t really laziness, I truly do love corner blocks.
Visit my fellow “Mad Mini Makers” to see what to see their December creations. A few may not have a mini for this month, but I linked them in because we all need a little extra sunshine today to carry us into the new and glorious year to come!

That sweet little block from Dawn deserves to be a quilt all by itself, and you have done it proud! The mitered corners (which I rarely attempt) are the perfect touch with that beautiful serpentine fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you will continue our monthly minis. Sometimes it has been the only motivation I had to sew each month. I appreciate an achievable goal. Thanks, Wendy!
That is a pretty block from Dawn. It looks lovely in your Christmas Mini. Wishing you a very Happy 2021!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special little quilt. You did a really nice job mitering the corners of that wavy fabric. Your list has really grown to include a lot of quilters. It's always fun seeing what people come up with. Thanks for including me this time.
ReplyDeleteThis may be my new favorite of your minis! The little group has grown over the past year, what fun to see everyone's creativity each month. Thanks for hosting our efforts!
ReplyDeleteDawn little applique has a special place in your December mini. Your use of the serpentine fabric is exquisite and surrounds the center piece block perfectly. That's for being the hostess with the mostess.
ReplyDeletePerfect "the hostess with the mostess". Love your Christmas mini too.
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with the block! It’s from our Mary Witherwax pattern - 19th century New York. That’s the size of every block in Mary’s quilt! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteGosh - your post just appeared in my feed yesterday. Things that make you go "hmmmm"...
ReplyDeleteDecember's mini is great - LOVE that wavy stripe!
I'm glad you plan to continue monthly minis. I've been thinking about a January mini - I just hope the month doesn't run out before I put my plan in action!
I love your little holly mini. The red serpentine is one of my all time favorite fabrics. it frames your little beauty perfectly.
ReplyDeletehappy new year!
What a sweet December mini! Love the holly leaves and the little leaf/bud center. It is so festive!
ReplyDeleteI was just reading about the monthly mini on Barb’s blog. Might be a good way for me to up my return to quilt making
